While a sip of champagne at a wedding or a morning coffee won’t completely derail your pregnancy, it might cause stress to you in the back of your head…if you think something you’re about to eat is going to hurt your baby, don’t do it.

If you’re an avid coffee drinker, you don’t need to cut it out completely – you do need to cut DOWN though. If you cut coffee out entirely, you may risk major headaches, try one cup a day. That will keep you energized and headache-free. It’s about moderation, not withdrawal.
Although you can’t dive all the way into that sushi craving – try cooked sushi, like shrimp tempura and low mercury fish. The worry with fish is the high levels of mercury; raw sushi might cause salmonella or listeria – salmonella isn’t risky to the fetus, but diarrhea or dehydration isn’t good for mom. Just ask yourself…..are you willing to risk it?
